Overview
This day-long seminar is an ideal training opportunity for companies interested in or involved in international trade. Conveniently broken into three sessions –morning, lunch and afternoon. Choose to attend one session or all.

Importing and exporting offer great opportunities for your company’s growth. But the details involved in these operations are getting increasingly complex! Building on past programs, two experts in international trade will present a full-day program with the information you need to make the most of your international market.

The morning session will focus on import compliance. Robert Gardenier, customs broker and president of M.E. Dey, will analyze various aspects of U.S. customs regulations and compliance, proper documentation, transportation, duties, and many other topics.

The afternoon session will cover the details of exporting. Ric Frantz, CEO of LR International, will discuss structuring an export department, export management systems, global shipping, Incoterms, Homeland Security regulations, transit and payment documentation, risk management and best practices in export control.

We are excited to have UW-Madison Professor Jeremi Suri as our luncheon speaker! Just one week after the historic 2008 election, Professor Suri will review the foreign policy implications of the election results. He will provide insights about what to expect from the new administration regarding a range of international issues, including nuclear proliferation, trade and the global economy, and the war in Iraq.
