Overview:
Ambassador Heraldo Munoz will speak about his experiences working under the Allende government in the 70's and subsequent position as the head of the United Nations Security Council during the US' invasion of Iraq post-9/11. 

Speaker Biography:
Heraldo Muñoz Valenzuela is a Chilean politician and diplomat and the current Chilean Ambassador to the United Nations. He has published two books -- the first called A Solitary War: A Diplomat's Chronicle of the Iraq War and Its Lessons regarding the US invasion of Iraq, and the second, The Dictator's Shadow: Life Under Augosto Pinochet, which chronicles his experiences as an open resistor to Pinochet's dictatorship and eventual rise to the position of Chilean Ambassador & head of the United Nations Security Council.  He holds a Ph.D. from the Josef Korbel School of International Studies at the University of Denver, and a Diploma in International Relations from the Catholic University of Chile.
